Food Service Cashier/Catering

Qualifications:

JOB SUMMARY:              

Responsible for the processes involved in obtaining cash sales, credit sales, meal plans and declining balances. Responsible for upkeep and re-stocking of the galley during meal service.   Responsible to set, serve and clean-up catering functions, as assigned.

DUTIES:                              

  1. Enforce guidelines, policies and procedures set forth by the Food Service Department
  2. Practice superior customer service to all staff, faculty, students and guests of the college
  3. Responsible for the process involved in obtaining cash sales, credit sales, meal plans, and declining balances
  4. Responsible for the day-to-day operations in the Galley’s FOH operations which include, but is not limited to: restocking, cleaning, assisting the other cashier when needed, and making sure all customers have an excellent visit to our facility
  5. Ensure that the proper measures of safety and sanitation are practiced
  6. Responsible for communicating any suggestions, comments, complaints, and incidents that customers have expressed or experienced
  7. Assisting with catered  events
  8. Organize event dates, delivery times, pickup times, etc.
  9. Ensuring set-up, service and take-down of each event scheduled
  10. Work in a professional manner with IWCC campus guests and clients to ensure a satisfactory guest experience in the galley and at catered events
  11. Assisting with the enforcement of the meal plan rules and 3-strike policy
  12. Perform other related duties as assigned

EDUCATION:

1.High school diploma or GED

2.Post-secondary education preferred

EXPERIENCE:                 

1.Cashier experience desired

2.Customer Service experience required

3.Computer/POS experience desired

4.Catering experience desired

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

1.Ability to calculate using basic math skills

2.Ability to work with all types of people as a team

3.Ability to communicate and work efficiently without constant supervision

4.Ability to lift at least 50 pounds

HOURS:

Monday – Friday                                

6:00 AM to 2:30 PM (Hours are variable according the scheduled catering events.  Some nights and weekends will be mandatory.)              

Additional hours could be incurred due to weekend shifts, catering functions, college activities, etc.
