Cass County Center

The Cass County Center has been part of Iowa Western Community College since 1966. The Center moved to its current location at 705 Walnut in 2005 and serves Atlantic and the surrounding communities with a wide range of programming. Credit, Continuing Education classes, business and industry, GED, and ELL (English Language Learner) classes offer a variety of education for all types of learners. Tutoring programs are also available.

The Cass County Center also offers a spacious facility available for training, workshops, and meetings. Our nine classrooms include a computer center with 12 computers and classrooms with seating for 25-50 people. We also have a small conference room with seating for 6-8 people.

All classrooms are fully equipped with audio-visual equipment to enhance your meeting or learning experience.

Start Your College Career

Our goal is to provide students with one-on-one attention. Stop by the Cass County Center for assistance with our college application, to speak with an advisor, learn about your financial aid options, and to register. We truly are a one-stop shop and invite you to come by during business hours or call to make an appointment.

Paying for College / Costs

New and current students need to renew their Financial Aid every year. Go to www.fafsa.ed.gov, click “Fill Out A Renewal FAFSA” and follow the directions. If you have questions, contact the Iowa Western Financial Aid office at (712) 325-3295 or 1-800-432-5852 ext. 3295


Continuing Education

Continuing Education at the Cass County offers community members the opportunity to gain knowledge in a fun, relaxed atmosphere.

HiSET (High School Equivalency) 

The Cass County Center offers HiSET instruction and testing to qualified individuals. An experienced instructor assesses each student to determine strengths and a starting level, which results in an individualized instruction plan focused on the student’s needs. Iowa Western Community College offers HiSet testing in several Southwest Iowa locations.

HiSet class schedule:
Tuesday, 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Thursday, 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.

HiSet Testing Schedule:  Arranged

Note: Students must have instructor approval to test


Facility Rental

The Cass County Center has space available for you to rent.  This includes business meetings and classrooms that include state-of-the-art audiovisual equipment.  Facility rentals are available M-F 8:00-4:30 and in the evening and on the weekend as availability allows.
