New Student Orientation (NSO)
NSO is for students entering Iowa Western
Community College. We know that college is an exciting and
challenging time in your life, and our Orientation program is
designed to help make the transition to college easier for you.
Last year over 1000 students attended NSO!
At New Student Orientation you will...
- meet other incoming students
- have the opportunity to interact with staff and current students
- learn about academic support services, student involvement and recreation opportunities, and general tips on how to make the most of your college experience at Iowa Western
- ask last-minute questions and check things off of your college "to-do list," such as pick up your pre-ordered books, find your classes, sign-up for a parking permit, or get your student ID
- receive necessary college information including a IWCC backpack with student planner and handbook
STUDENT ATHLETE ORIENTATION
If you are a student athlete, you do NOT need to sign up for New Student Orientation. Your coach scheduled you to attend orientation with the rest of your teammates. The dates below are for student athletes ONLY:
Monday, August 16 - FALL SPORTS
(Football, Volleyball, Cross Country, Soccer)Sunday, August 22 - WINTER/SPRING SPORTS
(Baseball, Basketball, Golf, Softball, Spirit Squad, Track/Field)
NSO Registration Steps
- Register for classes with an Admissions Advisor.
- Sign up for New Student Orientation. A confirmation email will be sent to you once you have signed up online. Two or three weeks prior to your orientation, we will email or mail you an information packet with an agenda, map, driving directions, and other important information.
- Attend NSO!
