Take The Placement Test:
COMputer-adaptive Placement Assessment and Support Services (COMPASS)
is a computerized placement exam given to new students. COMPASS measures
writing, reading, and math skills and helps determine which courses you
are ready to begin at Iowa Western. The test is not timed, but students
take an average time of two hours to complete the test. For more information,
visit Iowa Western's Testing Center Web page.
If you have taken the ACT or SAT recently, you can submit those scores in lieu of taking the COMPASS test. Please note that scores cannot be more than two years old at the start of the term for which you are accepted.
If you have already completed math and/or English for college credit, please check with an Admissions Advisor before scheduling the COMPASS.
If you need to take the COMPASS test, which is free of charge, please call 712.325.3277 to schedule a time that works for you.
