What I do at Iowa Western:
I make sure that prospective students have access to learn about Iowa Western by visiting campus, meeting with an Admissions Advisor in their high school or in our office, or by requesting information online, by phone or by mail. I also oversee the admissions process and ensure that we communicate with applicants in a clear and timely manner.

Favorite IWCC moment:
Spring graduation of 2005, because I watched the first students I helped at the college walk in the ceremony and receive their degrees. The graduation ceremony at Iowa Western is such a great experience because Iowa Western faculty and staff line up in Kanesvillle Arena, dressed in cap and gowns, and create an entrance aisle for the graduates. Watching as students walk by always gives me goose bumps. It is one of the most rewarding parts of my job.

Advice for New Students:
Get involved! Research shows that students who participate in activities on campus perform better in the classroom. Iowa Western offers so many opportunities for students to get involved on campus – from intramural sports to student clubs, there is something for everyone.

Piece of technology I can’t live without:
I currently have a love-hate relationship with my cell phone (it’s time for an upgrade), but considering I don’t have another phone to use, I really need it. My iPod would definitely be a close second – life without music would be unbearable!

Community service involvement:
Most recently, I have helped with several Clean up Council Bluffs projects. In short, we visit different parts of town and pick up trash along roadways and in neighborhoods.

Favorite Sports Team:
Da Bears.
