What do I do at Iowa Western?
I work in academic advising and primarily work with current students and assist faculty advisors. I also help new students get registered for their first semester of classes and assist the “deciding” students with some college and career goals.

IWCC Stuff

Favorite IWCC Moment:
I love the plant sale that the Turf and Landscape management program puts on. Everyone benefits from this sale! The students plant everything, help it grow and make it look adorable, then we get to buy them to take them home and make our yards look nice and the funds go back to support the program! Every year I buy all of my plants at this sale, and every year they grow beautifully all season.

IWCC Insider Tip:
If you don’t live on campus, or have a meal plan, you can get a discount in the cafeteria by putting money on your ID card in the cashier’s office and receive 10% off discount.

This is absolutely my favorite link because I had a hand in creating the pages, but also because I feel that it is great information for students to be able to use and access. Trying to pick a major or decide on a career can be very difficult and stressful but it doesn’t have to be! 

Community Service Involvement:
I am very happy to be a member of our Relay for Life team this year. This will be the 1st time our department has a team! And I am looking forward to seeing how much we can raise to support this great cause!

Hobbies and Interests:
- Sand volleyball
- Our black toy poodle named magic
- Vacation: going to Cozumel this summer and can’t wait!
- Just started running and will run my first 20k this summer.

Favorite Sports Teams:
Iowa Hawkeyes – went to my first basketball game recently –OT win vs Michigan and it was a blast!
