Vibrant Campus Life
Unlike life found on many community college campuses, Iowa Western offers a wide variety of extracurricular activities that make students feel “at home” in and out of the classroom. Students experience a true campus life by taking part in fun and challenging activities such as concert choir, instrumental music, cheerleading, intramurals, theatre or the national academic achievement group; Phi Theta Kappa. The Iowa Western Student Activities Board is an active group that organizes fun events for students, such as the annual picnic and Homecoming activities. If you enjoy competition, the college offers intramural leagues in a number of sports, including bowling and basketball. Students also can sit back and enjoy one of the many Reiver sporting events. Iowa Western, which competes in the National Junior College Athletic Association, is home to exciting spectator sports such as football, basketball, baseball, softball, soccer, golf, volleyball and more. If you just want some privacy, the beautiful campus has plenty of cozy, quiet areas to concentrate on your studies.
