Council Bluffs, Iowa -
SANDBAGGING TEST
Friday’s cold, rainy weather provided the perfect backdrop for a community service exercise conducted by Iowa Western students. Every semester the Management 101, Principles of Management class engages in an extended service-learning project that culminates in building a sandbag wall that would meet flood control standards. Students are as a result of this activity certified as sandbaggers by the county emergency management department, and become qualified to lead future real world disaster response efforts in flooding situations. The City of Council Bluffs donated sand for the project.
