Program Information

The Electrical Maintenance Specialist program prepares students to be employed as technicians in the fields of electrical maintenance, installation and repair. The program was developed especially for industry and is valuable in the development, as well as their electronic, controller and computer devices. Graduates of this program are awarded a diploma.

Who should pursue a diploma in Electrical Maintenance?
The Electrical Maintenance diploma is the beginning of our two-year degree. It also serves to upgrade the skills of current industry workers.
Will I get a good job after one year in school?
Most employers seek graduates with a two-year degree for their entry level positions. If you are already employed, this diploma will upgrade and enhance your skills for advancement.
If I commit to this one year program, how hard will it be to transition to the two-year AAS degree in EET?
You will have completed the first year of the two-year program. You will not miss a beat.
The Facility

Classrooms at Iowa Western have the latest technologies for faculty to deliver quality instruction. Iowa Western's spacious classroom and laboratory facilities are equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and technology.
The Electronic Engineering Technology program in its self-contained electronics and wiring labs give students the hand-on experience they need to prepare to enter the workforce upon graduation. The labs are equipped with the most up-to-date equipment and tools.
Our wireless network also allows students to access the internet from virtually anywhere on campus.
