Student Assistance
Through the Student Assistance Office, students can seek out free, confidential assistance to resolve personal and educational problems. Examples may include:
Emotional stress
Academic difficulty
Disability issues
Family problems
Roommate issues
Relationships
The Student Assistance Office also offers other
services such as:
- Educational programs to enhance holistic personal development.
- Consultations to parents, faculty, staff, and administrators.
- Referral sources to provide in-depth assistance for such matters as financial aid, tutoring, job placement, health issues, or emotional problems.
- Referrals for emergency and inpatient mental health services.
Confidentiality
The Student Assistance Office carefully guards students’ confidentiality. It is our policy not to release personally identifiable information concerning the use of our services without a student’s prior permission. Such confidentiality is upheld except in emergency situations where there is a clear and present danger that someone's life is at risk, a case of apparent abuse of a child, or by court order.
