Employment of paramedics, EMT and, firefighters is projected to grow 4 – 5 percent from 2022 to 2032, about as fast as the average for all occupations.
About 26,400 openings for firefighters are projected each year, on average, over the decade. About 18,100 openings for EMTs and paramedics are projected each year, on average, over the decade.
Many of those openings are expected to result from the need to replace workers who transfer to different occupations or exit the labor force, such as to retire.

Program Outcomes
Upon the successful completion of the program students will:
- Differentiate the responsibilities of the emergency medical team.
- Acknowledge the role of cultural and behavioral differences in the application of emergency care.
- Create a plan of care for individuals in an emergency.
- Explain the importance of safety in the design of apparatus and equipment.
- Apply appropriate hydraulic and pumping application to dynamic fire behaviors.
