This program is designed for students intending to transfer on to a four-year institution upon completion of this two-year degree. Chemists serve an important role in society, as they search out new information about chemicals and put that information into practical use developing new products and improving existing ones. Chemists also contribute to our quality of life by developing processes which save energy and reduce pollution, and their research spurs advances in medicine, agriculture, food processing, and other areas that touch our lives.
