Class meets Wednesday evenings from 6:00pm-8:00pm, via zoom, for 6 weeks. This class is for anyone seeking to work in the school system, K-12 classroom, alongside a certified teacher. Must be 18 or older. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Participant must have access to computer/internet outside of class, in order to complete the online coursework.
Feb 2 – February 27th
4 week, online, self paced required coursework needed to apply for the State of Iowa Substitute Teacher Authorization. Minimum educational requirements are 60 units completed college credits. Ideal for a person without a teaching degree who wants to become a substitute teacher.

Complete required coursework needed to apply for the State of Iowa Substitute Teacher Authorization in 4 Days. Class will meet via zoom Monday-Thursday 5:00-9:00 pm. (online with zoom). This three-week online course fulfills the required coursework to apply for the State of Iowa Board of Educational Examiners (BOEE) Coaching Authorization. The second week of class will include the first mandatory Zoom session with the instructor. During the third week, students will complete the remaining five Zoom sessions. All Zoom sessions run from 6:00–7:30 p.m. Successful completion of this course and the BOEE application process qualifies participants to serve as an assistant or head coach for any K–12 sport in Iowa.

Cancellations: Iowa Western reserves the right to cancel any class where a minimum enrollment is not achieved or issues arise in staffing or scheduling. A full refund will be issued for all canceled classes.
Refund/Transfers/Withdrawals: You may cancel your registration 5 business days prior to the start of the class date and receive a 100% refund excluding the $50 non-refundable processing fee. IWCC must be contacted via phone or voicemail or email @ ce@iwcc.edu. Transfers may be made up to 2 business days prior to the start date of the class, unless otherwise noted in the class information. After that time, transfers will not be permitted and no refund will be issued. Transfers may be subject to $25.00 transfer fee. Non-attendance for a class does not constitute a withdrawal and refunds are not issued for non-attendance.
