Join Jill Day, BGS, LDA, RDA, CDA, CPFDA, CRFDA as she presents on scope of practice, registration requirements, levels of supervision, delegation of expanded functions, continuing education requirements, and much more! This presentation will cover Chapter 20 of the Iowa Administrative Code - Dental Board[650]. It will fulfill the Iowa Administrative Code 650--Chapter 25 requirement for dental personnel for one (1.0) contact hour of Jurisprudence continuing education for the 2019/2020 dental assistant and dental hygienists renewal and 2020/2021 dentist renewal. This program expands the scope of practice for a dental assistant in taking final impressions, preliminary charting, removal of adhesives, placement and removal of dry socket medication, and placement of periodontal dressings. It includes initial assessment to determine the base entry level of all participants; didactic component; clinical component, which must be obtained under the personal supervision of the participant's supervising dentist while the participant is concurrently enrolled in the program; and post-course competency assessment at the conclusion of the program.
