About the Iowa Western Foundation
The Iowa Western Community College Foundation was organized in 1986 to provide support to the college, our students, and our many programs. The Foundation is dedicated to developing new sources of financial support for student scholarships, projects, and college educational programs.
Each year, the IWCC Foundation receives generous gifts from friends, businesses, service organizations, faculty and staff, and alumni. This support is critical to our numerous programs and to our students. The Foundation is proud to assist Iowa Western in its mission to provide premier educational opportunities and empower thousands of students.
Four of the top five reasons students cite for dropping out of college are finance-related. This makes IWCC’s effort to build scholarships vital. With more than 70 percent of Iowa Western’s student population receiving financial aid, the need for scholarship support is more crucial than ever before. Scholarship gifts to our Foundation make students’ dreams of obtaining a higher education a reality.
In addition to current gifts, we encourage and promote deferred giving opportunities. Whether through a bequest, life insurance, or the establishment of charitable gift annuities or trusts, these financial vehicles help our donors leave legacy gifts that will impact Iowa Western and our students for generations to come.
