Celebrating Student Success: Adam McCall’s Journey in Emergency Services

Adam McCall

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa – Iowa Western celebrates Reiver graduate Adam McCall and his incredible journey within the emergency services sector. Adam completed the EMT program in 2013 and recently graduated from the paramedic program in January 2024. His career began as an ambulance driver in Shelby County, where he quickly realized his passion for helping people and his remarkable ability to stay cool-headed in crisis situations. This realization propelled him to become an EMT and, ultimately, a paramedic.

Emergency Services are vital to any community, ensuring public safety during crises. EMS and Fire Departments play crucial roles, providing immediate medical care and responding to fires, rescues, and hazardous incidents. These dedicated professionals work together seamlessly to protect and serve.

For those inspired by Adam’s journey, the Education 2 Employment (E2E) program offers FREE tuition assistance to Iowa residents. This program provides opportunities for individuals to grow their career skills and further their education, with classes available in both hybrid and traditional formats.

“Iowa Western was not only a great school to attend”, McCall said. “The college was also really helpful in finding the avenues to make my dreams happen”

Adam McCall’s journey is a testament to the impact of quality education and the opportunities provided by initiatives at Iowa Western. We are proud to celebrate his achievements and look forward to seeing the difference he will continue to make in our community.
