COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa – The Arts Center at Iowa Western has announced its 24th annual National Performance Season for the 2024-25 year.
The series will feature a variety of programming appealing to a wide audience. The season kicks off with Exile, a genre-bending band that enjoyed widespread success in the 1970s and 80s. In October, Council Bluffs welcomes the nation’s top Eagles tribute artists, Hotel California: “A Salute to the Eagles.” Just in time for election season, audiences can enjoy The Capitol Fools (formerly The Capitol Steps), offering humorous perspectives on all sides of the political spectrum. Due to popular demand following last year’s performance, Michael Cavanaugh returns for Christmas with “A Merry Rockin’ Christmas, Starring Michael Cavanaugh.” In February, direct from Ireland, The High Kings will bring their traditional Irish sound to the stage. Following them, The Barricade Boys – Broadway Party features four men who all held lead roles in London’s West End production of Les Misérables. April highlights a special show with JD Souther and Karla Bonoff: Together Again. The season concludes with local and national sensation Billy McGuigan in Billy McGuigan’s Pop Rock Orchestra.
“We have just completed a phenomenal season of entertainment, with record-breaking audiences enjoying some of the finest performances in the Arts Center’s history,” said Tim Dickmeyer, Director of the Arts Center. “I’m humbled by the support of our community as we strive to present high-quality, professional artists in our intimate, comfortable venue. We’re thrilled to continue offering this entertainment right here in Council Bluffs.”
